Dear Host family
Hello dear family,
My name is Luiza, I'm 23 years old and I’m currently an au pair in Boston, United States. I’ve been here since July 2016 and it has been the best experience in my life so far. I met amazing people from all over the world, traveled a lot and found one of my best friends in my 10 year old host kid.
Before coming to the US, I graduated in journalism at one of the best universities in Brazil. I've worked as a reporter and as a public relations and I love both. Besides portuguese and english, I can also speak basic mandarin. I absolutely love animals, specially dogs!
On my free time, I go to the gym, read books, play with my dogs and my stepsister, take them out and go out with friends. I love travelling, visiting museums, libraries, beaches, parks and pretty much everything hahaha! I'm a very active and open minded person. I love outdoor activities and I'm open to participate in new ones.
I chose to be an au pair because I love children and I want to connect with a chinese family and meet them for real. Growing up, I always had nannies and each one of them influenced my life is a way. They were there for me when I took my first steps, when I lost my first tooth, when I received a school award, when my parents got a divorce, when my dog died. They were smiling with me in the best moments of my life and where holding my hands in the worst ones. They were there for me when my parents couldn't, they became my friends, my confidents, people I could trust and could count on. That's what I want to represent to the children I'm going to take care of. I want to be there for them no matter what and I want them to feel loved and safe.
I have a 13 year old stepsister who used to live with me and I’d often take care of her when my parents went on dates or on a trip. I’d drive her to school, doctors and would take
her to the movies, park or to play somewhere. We lived together for 2 years. I was also a volunteer in an orphanage near my house and in a scout’s club. I used to watch some kids
in my building when their parents wanted to do something and couldn’t take them. I taught my cousin how to swim when he was 5. I've taken care of my neighbour since she was
9 unitl she was 12, while her mom was at the gym, doctor or working late.
We’d play, I’d feed her, pick her up at school or the doctors and help her with homework.
Each child I took care of has had a significant impact in my life and helped me become who I am today. I'm very greatful for all the life experience they provided me.
I look forward to going to China to live with a lovely family, meet new people and make a difference in your children's life! :D
